Presentation & Meeting Schedule for 2023
All are welcome to attend our presentations!
Join us at 6:30 PM, the 4th Wednesday of the month, March - October
Meetings are held at the Enfield Annex, 124 North Maple Street, Enfield, CT
March 22 Guest speaker: Steve Stanley, owner of Flower Power Farm, East Windsor, will show us some new annuals and perennials being offered this year. We'll discuss the pros and cons of some of the annuals that we have been using for some time. Member meeting to follow presentation.
April 26 Guest speaker: Christine Froehlich, How to Garden in Impossible Places. Tips on problem solving and gardening in difficult sites. This will be a Zoom presentation we'll watch together.
May 24 Guest speaker: Bill Cote, Chairman Enfield Conservation Commission, will discuss latest issues and projects. We will be meeting in Room D218 (not the Greenhouse Classroom)
June 28 Guest speaker: Jacqueline Clark, landscape designer and owner of Garden Designs by Jacqueline LLC. Jacqueline will talk about how to use plants for spring, summer, fall, and winter interest with focus on blooms, texture, and forms as well as performance for a beautiful garden year round.
July 26 Guest speaker: Katherine Mashiak, owner of Kassandra's Herbs in Somers, CT, will present a talk growing, harvesting, and using culinary and medicinal herbs. (Meeting Room D218 in Enfield Municipal Annex)
August 23 Guest speaker: Richard Cowles from the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station will discuss Climate Change and Consequences to the CT Gardener. Co-sponsored by and taking place at the Enfield Public Library, 104 Middle Road.
September 27 Guest Speaker: Clayton Chef Beckett of Beckett Farms in Glastonbury will speak about the care and planting of tulips.
October 26 Guest Speaker: Representative from UCONN Master Composter Program will show us how it's done!
